For over 20 years, Adam Williams Design has been creating beautiful, bespoke metal furniture from our studio and workshop in Somerset, England.
Our range includes over 130 designs, and when you’ve chosen the style you like our team of highly skilled designers, metalworkers and finishers will make each piece to your exact specifications.
55, 155 or 38.5 inches… it doesn’t matter. Each item of furniture is made to measure and we offer a range of unique, hand-applied metal finishes and table surface materials to choose from.
At Adam Williams Design we can also make bespoke furniture based on your own ideas and inspiration. Discuss what you want with us and we’ll develop and build the furniture you require.
Adam Williams Design works with a trusted local shipping firm who will pack, crate and transport your table to you safely, anywhere in the world.
How it works – design and planning
You can find a picture of a piece of furniture you like and we can make something new inspired by it, or you can give us a a sketch or a drawing of an idea.
Even if you are not quite sure but you have an idea for a 60s style table, or something that matches an artists’s or designer’s style and we can help come up with a unique piece for you.
This applies both to all kinds of tables and also a few other types of furniture piece of furniture where steel and bronze, stone and/or glass are the main focus/frame of the furniture.We would make a desk, console table, side table, coffee table, nested tables, bedside tables, shelf units, even dining or garden tables with matching chairs.
We are also happy to adapt any of our current table designs to your specifications.
Once we have finalised the sketch and outline, Adam will work closely with you to understand the materials that you want to use, and get all the details like measurements and other specifics all recorded.
On approval of the designs, we begin manufacture.
For some larger pieces or sculptures, it may be necessary to do a site visit, although most of the time we are happy to work over the phone, video calls, and emails.
How long does a project last?
If it’s quite a basic design where we can use fabricators and not blacksmith, then it would be probably around 10 weeks.
If it is a black smoke piece then that can be anywhere from 10 to 14 weeks.
If you’re looking at a commissioned sculpture then that’s really minimum of about three months three to four months.
If you have a very short lead time then we will always try and speak to our team to see if we can turn things around quicker for you.
We can recommend what the best materials to use for tables and sculptures particularly if it is to go outside.
If you know if you really want something in word or stone then we can recommend people who would do a brilliant job for you. We are specific in working with steel, bronze and stone and we focus on where we have expertise.
Can you work with our suppliers?
We offer some stone tops on our site but if you wanted to see the stone yourself then you are welcome to visit our suppliers (based in Somerset) or put us in touch with yours.
We will speak to the Stone Company to make sure that they cut it correctly and everything is done to our spec.
You may already have a picee of stone you want to work with which is fine by us!
