Harewood Console Table

The Harewood Console was inspired by the fluid elegance of classical European furniture, reinterpreted through the lens of a sculptor rather than a cabinetmaker. I wanted to capture the drama of a sabre leg and the sweep of a lyre, but push both forms to their absolute expressive limit. The result is a base of extraordinary movement: four deeply curved legs rise from splayed, talon like feet, drawing together at the centre before arching outward again to meet the tabletop in a gesture that feels almost alive, like a plant reaching toward light. Hand-forged in steel and finished in flamed bronze, the surface carries that characteristic warmth and depth that only real metalwork can achieve, rich, dark tones with a subtle iridescence that shifts beautifully in changing light. The clean limestone top sits above this sculptural base with a quiet confidence, its pale, understated surface allowing the bronze work beneath to remain the undisputed focal point.
