Ocala Console Table

Console Tables

The Ocala Console was inspired by a winter walk through the Irish countryside, where bare hawthorn trees stood with striking graphic beauty. The slender limbs of the ancient Celtic hawthorn possessed an organic intelligence that felt almost architecturally resolved, a natural branching structure I wanted to bring directly into the interior.

The result is a forest of hand-forged steel legs, each beginning as a single stem before dividing as it rises. The individual branches swell and taper with naturalistic irregularity, every leg unique, the surface worked to suggest the gnarled quality of aged hawthorn bark. Finished in bitumen on brown, the golden tones give the organic forms a luminosity that glows like a grove of gilded trees in late afternoon light. The shaped limestone top sits with quiet simplicity above, the sky above the canopy.

All pieces from our Somerset studio, are handmade to order to your exact specifications and available in bespoke sizes with a choice of finishes and tops.
