Manhattan Demi Lune Console Table

The Manhattan Demi Lune Console was designed around a single, obsessive pursuit of elegance, the idea that a console table could have the poise and delicacy of a piece of fine jewellery, every element refined to its most essential and beautiful expression. Four slender legs curve inward from the floor before sweeping back out to meet a small central collar, a detail of real precision and craftsmanship that ties the composition together with a quiet flourish, then continue upward to meet the semicircular apron with a pair of gently arching brackets that frame the underside of the top with extraordinary grace. The overall form references the tripod bases of neoclassical urns and candelabra, those perfectly balanced structures that the great silversmiths and bronziers of the eighteenth century understood intuitively, yet the Manhattan arrives at something entirely its own, lighter, more linear, more contemporary in its resolution. Finished in Tudor silver, a cool and beautifully complex tone that moves between pale pewter and warmer champagne depending on the light, the surface of the metalwork adds a subtle vitality that keeps the piece from ever feeling too pristine. The limestone top completes the demi lune form with its characteristic quiet confidence.
