The frame is a complete, fully enclosed rectangle, four sides of flat-faced steel, each one worked by hand with an allover hammered texture of extraordinary richness and depth, the surface built up and broken back until it achieves that characteristic play of peaks and valleys that catches the flamed bronze finish differently at every angle and in every light condition. The glass top sits inset within this frame rather than resting upon it, held securely on all four sides by the enclosing metalwork, a detail that gives the piece a precision and completeness that makes the glass and frame feel like a single unified object rather than a top and a base in conversation.
