Champagne II Console Table
Console TablesThe Champagne II Console takes the DNA of the Champagne side table, that signature arched bracket where leg meets frame, that sense of a stem supporting a surface with botanical grace, and extends it to the full length of a console, where the repeated detail across four legs creates a rhythm and consistency of extraordinary refinement. Each leg rises from the floor in a gently tapering column before flowering outward in a smooth, arching flute that blends seamlessly into the underside of the apron, a junction of such fluidity and precision that it is impossible to say where one element ends and the other begins, the metalwork appearing to have grown into this form rather than been forged and fitted. The overall profile is one of serene, unhurried elegance, a console that sits low to the eye, long and slender, with a poise that makes everything placed upon it look considered and intentional. Finished in bitumen on brown, the warm golden tones of the metalwork shift between bright and deep as the light changes throughout the day, the smooth, rounded surfaces of the legs and brackets catching the finish with a luminosity that feels almost liquid. The limestone top completes the composition with its characteristic natural quietness.
