At this scale the crossing point becomes a focal detail of real power, the two legs meeting and passing each other in a clean, exact intersection that speaks of considerable skill in the making, each leg continuing its diagonal path to the floor with a sharpness of taper that keeps the piece feeling light and dynamic despite its substantial length. The inspiration remains rooted in the campaign furniture tradition, those brilliantly engineered X-frame structures that have served architects, military commanders and explorers for centuries, but here the form is stripped of all historical ornament and resolved in hand-forged flamed bronze with a purity and confidence that makes it entirely of the moment. The limestone top sits above the bronze work with its characteristic quiet authority, its warm, pale surface a perfect foil to the dark, complex tones of the metalwork.
