Curved Console Table

The Curved Sofa Console was designed to solve a problem that most furniture makers simply walk away from, how to place a console table behind a curved sofa without the inevitable awkwardness of a straight edge meeting a curved back. The answer required starting entirely from scratch and designing a piece that embraced the curve rather than fighting it, its long, gently arching top and matching lower shelf both following the same elegant radius so that the piece wraps around the back of a sofa with a precision and fluidity that makes the two feel designed as one. The result is something far more than a practical solution, it is a piece of considerable sculptural beauty in its own right, the two sweeping horizontal planes of limestone suspended at different heights within the flamed bronze framework creating a composition of genuine architectural drama that transforms the centre of any room it inhabits. The clean, flat faced steel legs and rails of the flamed bronze frame provide a structural discipline that anchors the flowing stone surfaces and prevents the design from ever feeling indulgent, this is engineering and aesthetics working in complete harmony.
