De Vere Console Table

The De Vere Console takes the cabriole leg, that most eloquent and enduring of furniture forms, and renders it at full console width in hand forged gold leaf steel, creating a piece of sweeping, uninterrupted elegance that fills a wall with genuine grandeur. Where the Demi Lune version of this design carries a certain intimate delicacy, the full rectangular top of the De Vere Console gives the cabriole legs room to breathe and perform at their most expansive, the four outward swelling, inward tapering forms working together across the full width of the piece in a composition of classical confidence and considerable presence. The gold leaf finish, applied by hand to the flat faced steel, catches the light with a warmth and luminosity that shifts from bright, burnished gold on the raised surfaces to deeper, more complex tones where the leaf has settled into the natural irregularities of the metal, giving the piece the quality of something genuinely antique rather than newly made. The Jura Beige stone top, with its warm sandy tones and fossil rich surface, completes the pairing with an earthiness and natural beauty that sits in perfect harmony with the gilded base beneath.
