Demi Lune Side Table

The Demi Lune Side Table is one of the great classical furniture forms, a shape with centuries of history behind it, beloved for the way its flat back sits flush against a wall while its curved front softens the geometry of a room and it was a form I had long wanted to reinterpret through the language of hand forged metalwork. Four elegant legs taper from the semicircular frame to the floor with a lightness and precision that gives the piece an almost reed like delicacy, belying the strength and weight of the steel from which it is made. Finished in flamed bronze, the warm, complex tones of the metalwork develop a quiet iridescence that makes this far more than a simple occasional table, while the limestone top, its pale, natural surface perfectly complementing the darkened bronze beneath, completes the composition with understated elegance. Equally at home in a hallway, beside a sofa or as a bedside table.
