Portland Side Table

The Portland Side Table grew from an interest in the bold, geometric vocabulary of Art Deco architecture, those grand Portland stone facades of 1930s London, where every detail was considered and nothing left to chance.

The base is built entirely from flat-faced square sections assembled into a frame of satisfying geometric clarity. A stepped stretcher detail at floor level adds visual interest and architectural rhythm to the overall form.

Every surface has been worked by hand to create an allover hammered texture that softens the geometry just enough to remind you this is craft rather than engineering. Finished in Tudor silver, a cool, complex tone between aged pewter and weathered stone, entirely in keeping with the architectural references.

All pieces from our Somerset studio, are handmade to order to your exact specifications and available in bespoke sizes with a choice of finishes and tops.
