Hatfield Console Table

The Hatfield Console draws its inspiration from the ancient woodland and historic parkland of Hatfield House, where gnarled branches and centuries old trees create a natural architecture of extraordinary quiet beauty, I wanted to bring that same organic, unhurried quality into the home. The four legs and connecting stretcher are hand-forged to mimic the irregular, knotted surface of aged timber, each one textured and subtly varied so that no two are ever quite alike, then finished in a deep blackened bronze that lends the base a brooding, almost geological presence. Set against this darkened foundation, the 30mm Arctic Cream marble top complements the frame perfectly with its bold, sweeping veins of charcoal and slate cutting dramatically across a pale ground, echoing the organic energy of the metalwork beneath in an entirely natural way.
