The Hammered Bronze Coffee Table with Shelf is a piece about the relationship between the raw and the refined, between a frame of extraordinary tactile richness and the cool, transparent clarity of glass that it supports. The four legs are the defining element, each one built up with a deeply worked, almost encrusted surface texture that goes far beyond conventional hammering into something closer to the bark of a tree or the surface of weathered stone, a finish achieved through hours of hand working that gives the bronze a depth and three dimensionality that catches the light from every angle with a constantly shifting, earthy complexity.
