Clifton Console Table

The Clifton Console is built on the conviction that a console table should feel like a single, uninterrupted thought, one continuous line of metal that descends from the top, turns at the floor and rises again, with no unnecessary joints, no decorative additions and nothing that doesn’t earn its place absolutely. The frame is a clean waterfall form, two sides and a connecting base rail forming a precise rectangular enclosure of great simplicity and every surface of that frame has been heavily hammered by hand, the allover dimpled texture transforming this pure geometry into something genuinely alive and tactile. The hammered finish catches the flamed bronze with a warmth and complexity that shifts continuously across the day, the interplay of light and shadow across the worked metal giving the piece a vitality and presence that a smooth surface could never achieve. The Jura Beige stone top, its warm sandy tones and fossil rich character sitting in easy harmony with the bronze work below, completes the composition with natural understated beauty. Slender enough to sit in the narrowest of hallways yet substantial enough to anchor the grandest of spaces.
