Cocktail Console Table

The Cocktail Console is an unapologetic celebration of the Art Deco period at its most assured and glamorous, a design that draws directly from the great decorative interiors of 1930s Paris and New York, where the repeated curve, the stepped plinth and the layered surface were the defining vocabulary of an era that understood luxury as a total, immersive experience. Five steel rails arc in a series of concentric U-forms from a weighted trapezoidal plinth base, each one following the same generous curve but at a slightly different radius, the layering creating a depth and shadow play that makes the base appear to be in constant, rippling motion, like the strings of a harp caught mid-vibration, or the concentric waves spreading from a single dropped stone. Finished in bitumen on brown, the warm, golden tones of the metalwork glow with a richness and period authenticity that makes the piece feel at once entirely historical and completely contemporary, the hand applied finish giving the repeating rails a variation and life that no machine process could replicate. The limestone top sits above this extraordinary base with the clean, horizontal authority that the design demands, pale, understated and perfectly scaled.
