Seattle Console Table
Console TablesThe Seattle Console was inspired by the structural poetry of modern engineering, the diagonal bracing of steel bridges, the triangulated frameworks of tower cranes and suspension structures where every member is placed precisely where the forces demand it, creating a kind of accidental beauty that no purely decorative impulse could ever replicate. A dense, angular lattice of hand-forged steel rods crosses and intersects beneath the tabletop in a composition that feels simultaneously spontaneous and entirely resolved, as though the structure arrived at its own form through the logic of load and tension rather than the hand of a designer. No two intersections are quite the same, and the slight irregularity of the hand-forged rods gives the whole base a warmth and vitality that engineered metalwork never possesses. Finished in bitumen on brown, a complex and deeply beautiful tone that moves between warm gold and rich amber depending on the light, the surface catches every angle of the lattice differently and rewards prolonged looking. The clean limestone top sits above this extraordinary base with deliberate simplicity, its pale, quiet surface the perfect foil to the golden complexity beneath.
