Oxford Side Table

The Oxford Side Table was designed around a single obsession, the tapered leg in its most elemental and perfect form. I wanted to strip away everything that wasn’t essential and arrive at something so well proportioned and quietly confident that it needed nothing else to justify its presence in a room. Four elegantly tapered legs, each one hand forged and covered in a fine hammered texture that catches the flamed bronze finish with a warmth and subtlety that shifts throughout the day, rise from the floor with an almost balletic precision to meet a slim, perfectly scaled apron. The glass top is the final and decisive choice, rather than concealing the frame beneath a solid surface, it allows the eye to travel straight through to the bronze work, the floor, and the space beyond, giving the piece an extraordinary lightness and transparency that a stone or timber top simply could not achieve.
